Terrance Souser

Terrance’s journey truly took flight in Okinawa, Japan, where he trained under his first professor, Jay Turner, the leader of Team Choco Okinawa. Among a team of military service members from different branches, Jiu-Jitsu became more than just a sport—it became a bond that forged a family. Terrance’s experiences as a U.S. Navy Veteran enrich his teaching, thus allowing him to connect with students on a deeper level. A true competitor at heart, Terrance actively participates in international competitions across various rulesets. His thirst for knowledge and growth is evident as he continuously refines his skills and seeks new challenges. As an ADCC certified judge and referee,  Terrance possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of the sport and ensures fair play and a high standard of competition.

Terrance’s diverse background extends beyond Jiu-Jitsu. He holds a career as a Trauma MRI Technologist at OHSU, showcasing his versatility and ability to integrate different disciplines. His multifaceted experiences inform his teaching style, creating a well-rounded and holistic learning environment for his students. When Terrance is not on the mats, you can find him embracing the chase and problem-solving aspects of Jiu-Jitsu. Whether he’s donning a gi or focusing on NoGi, he thrives on the continuous improvement of his game. With a strong desire to become a champion in every major event. Terrance inspires his students to set ambitious goals and push their boundaries. As an instructor, Terrance embodies the spirit of resilience, growth, and unity that Jiu-Jitsu instills.
